UAE Green Residence — investor / business partner for Iranian citizens

5-year renewable, self-sponsored Green Residence for investors and business partners in UAE commercial activities.

No sponsorship requiredDoes not lead to permanent residency5 years, renewable while the investment and activity conditions remain met.

This page covers the UAE Green Residence — investor / business partner specifically for Iranian applicants — including document requirements, consular procedures, and common issues specific to Iran. The general eligibility criteria apply to everyone.

What Iranian applicants should know

Iranian investors use the same published Green Residence test, including the current AED 1 million company-contribution requirement; ICP does not publish a separate Iranian threshold or a rule that capital must originate outside Iran. Residence approval, company licensing and banking are distinct decisions. UAE financial institutions must verify customers and beneficial owners, understand source of funds/wealth and screen the UAE and UN lists, so keep the ownership chain, contracts, tax records and transfers traceable and check counterparties against the live lists. If Iranian civil or corporate documents must be used, confirm the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs attestation route rather than assuming an Iranian “apostille” is sufficient.

Visa overview

The current federal long-term investor/partner route is the 5-year Green Residence. It is self-sponsored and requires competent-authority approval to conduct the activity plus a qualifying contribution to a UAE company. Company formation and licensing are separate from immigration; applicants meeting the higher Golden Residency tests may instead qualify for a 5- or 10-year Golden category.
