Moving to Anguilla: permission and practical setup
An eVisa is short-stay entry, not relocation permission. Residence-by-investment and high-value tax residence are distinct programmes, and the official programme itself distinguishes a right to reside from a right to reside and work.

Choose entry, residence and work rights separately
The eVisa portal covers eligible short stays. Select Anguilla publishes residence-by-investment and tax-residence options, but applicants must select the version matching whether work rights are sought. Property or tax residence alone should not be treated as local employment permission.
| Plan | Route | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Short visit | Single Entry eVisa | Entry only |
| Investment residence | Residence by Investment | Choose reside or reside-and-work option |
| High-value tax residence | High Value Resident Tax Residency | Tax and residence conditions, not assumed work access |
Keep programme and immigration evidence aligned
Prepare passport, police, medical, source-of-funds, investment, tax and civil records requested by the chosen route. Ask Immigration and Labour for the separate employer or work action where applicable, and retain entry and programme approvals.
Make hurricane resilience and water part of the lease
Inspect storm shutters, roof, cistern, generator, internet, inventory, insurance responsibility and access to ferry or airport. Verify the owner or agent and do not assume a real-estate purchase completes immigration or tax residence.
Confirm tax residence and contributions from actual facts
High-value tax residence has programme conditions and should be coordinated with home-country advice. Ask the employer about Social Security and payroll duties. Banks verify immigration, address, tax residence and source of funds independently.
Confirm healthcare, evacuation and school placement
Map local primary and emergency care and obtain insurance for off-island treatment where needed. Ask Education for placement, address, immigration, vaccination and prior-school records, and confirm each dependant and working partner separately.
Plan island driving, ferries and controlled imports
Confirm the local licence and insurance process before driving. Obtain Customs treatment before sending goods or a vehicle and Agriculture permission before pet travel. Keep ferry and flight alternatives for medical and hurricane disruption.
