Portugal moving checklist
This list separates residence permission from the NIF, NISS and SNS identifiers and puts address, tax, health, work and driving actions in a workable order.

Apply the list to your own route
A residence-visa holder, EU mover, worker, retiree and family member will not complete identical steps. Mark conditional items and retain why they did or did not apply.
The critical path is lawful status, reusable documents, entry, AIMA, honest address evidence, aligned identifiers, healthcare basis, tax and work compliance, then household services.
Do not confuse numbers with status
A NIF enables tax and contract activity but is not residence. A NISS is an identifier but not proof that employment reporting is complete. An SNS user number does not alone guarantee cost coverage.
Use official AIMA, Tax Authority, Social Security, SNS and IMT channels and retain every receipt or submission record.
Your moving checklist
Tick off the tasks that apply to you. The timing is a planning order, not a substitute for the deadlines on your permission or an official instruction.
