Moving to Uzbekistan: a practical relocation guide
Uzbekistan requires the immigration purpose, work basis and temporary place-of-stay registration to remain aligned. A PINFL is a key service identifier but does not replace the visa, residence or work authorisation.

Choose work, IT, investment or family status deliberately
A local employee normally needs the employer-supported work and visa chain. The IT Visa serves qualifying technology specialists, founders or investors; investment, real-estate and family records have their own conditions.
A short visitor entry is not a substitute for local work. Confirm the invitation, visa and residence document with the migration and consular authorities before travel.
| Plan | Route to examine | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Local employment | Work Visa (E) with work-permit confirmation | Employer and labour authorisation drive the file. |
| Qualifying technology activity | IT Visa (IT Park founders and specialists) | Use the IT Park eligibility and endorsement process. |
| Family move | Family Visa and Residence (reunification) | Each dependant needs relationship and stay documentation. |
Register the actual place of stay
Hotels normally handle temporary registration; a private host or landlord follows the official guest-registration process. Obtain the confirmation for every address and do not assume a lease alone updates migration records.
Repeat the process after a move and keep registration continuous with the visa or residence period.
Finish work permission and obtain PINFL
Confirm the employer permit, work confirmation and lawful start before beginning. Company formation or an IT Park relationship does not automatically authorise unrelated employment.
Obtain the personal identification number, PINFL, through the public-service process used for foreigners. Banks, tax and digital services may require it, but it is not immigration status.
Make the home and medical plan verifiable
Use a written lease, verify the owner and record utilities. Ensure the address can support migration registration before paying a long deposit.
Ask the employer whether social or medical coverage applies and maintain private cover until actual entitlement and provider access are confirmed for each family member.
Separate tax residence and family services
Register with the Tax Committee as required, keep travel days and obtain advice for foreign income or business ownership.
Prepare translated civil and school records. Ask the local school how it determines placement and language support; each child needs separate stay registration.
Keep registration, visa and work dates aligned
Calendar the visa, residence document, work authorisation, passport and address registration. Start extensions early and report job or address changes.
Check foreign-driving-licence recognition and vehicle registration through the public-service portal before driving regularly.
