Overview
Brazil digital-nomad route was created by CNIg Resolution 45/2021 and is delivered through the VITEM XIV temporary visa. It is for immigrants who perform their work activities remotely for a foreign employer or foreign clients while residing in Brazil. The Ministry of Justice publishes a practical guide for the route. The authorization is granted for a limited period and is renewable.

No. The VITEM XIV digital-nomad route requires that the work be performed remotely for an employer or clients located outside Brazil. Brazilian-sourced employment uses the labour residence route instead.

CNIg Resolution 45/2021 sets a minimum monthly income or, alternatively, a minimum amount of bank savings. Because these figures are set by resolution, confirm the current amounts on the official Ministry of Justice guide before applying.
