Overview
Family reunification lets the spouse and dependent children, and in some cases other close relatives, of a non-EU national who holds a qualifying Bulgarian residence permit join them in Bulgaria. The sponsor's status, the family relationship, accommodation and means of support are evidenced to the Migration Directorate. You usually enter on a long-stay type D visa for family reunification and then apply for the residence card. It is a settlement-capable route, with lawful time counting toward permanent residence.
