Rule changes note —The Gambia Immigration Department publishes public guidance for visas, entry requirements, residential permits, expatriate quota and business establishment. The reviewed public source set is strong for route fit, permit type, evidence and headline fees, but it does not expose a single online filing portal. Applicants and employers should confirm the current form, fee and filing desk with GID, the Ministry of Interior or the relevant Gambian mission before payment or travel.

Overview

GID says a short visit visa may be issued to people intending short-duration visits to The Gambia for up to 90 days, subject to local security clearance. The applicant must be a bona fide businessperson or tourist, not a person seeking or intending to take employment in The Gambia. GID also says the applicant should be a regular resident of the country where applying and should hold return or onward transport, or the cash equivalent, plus adequate funds. The Government of The Gambia portal separately says UK, EU, Commonwealth, ECOWAS and reciprocal-exemption nationals do not require a visa for holiday or business trips not exceeding 90 days.

ℹ️ Who can apply?

You do not need a job offer or employer to apply for the Short Visit Visa. This route does not lead to permanent residence. Open to qualifying applicants from all countries.
