Rule changes note —Iran publishes a public MFA eVisa portal and traveller guidance for non-immigrant visa categories, online filing, status checks, document image rules and selected visa-waiver notes. This packet is deliberately conservative: it covers the categories exposed in the MFA source set and does not claim a permanent-residence, citizenship or sanctions-specific route where the reviewed public pages do not provide a clear immigration checklist.

Overview

The Iran MFA eVisa home page says foreign citizens should obtain a visa unless they are nationals of countries that can enter under visa-waiver rules. It also says ordinary passport holders from a listed group of 27 countries may enter Iran without a visa for a stay of 15 days once every six months, and that this stay is not extendable. This is a visitor-only entry route: travellers should check nationality coverage, entry purpose and any carrier or border instructions before relying on the waiver.

ℹ️ Who can apply?

You do not need a job offer or employer to apply for the Visa-Waiver Tourism Entry. This route does not lead to permanent residence. Open to qualifying applicants from all countries.
