Overview

General Security publishes special instructions for religious students, clergy, missionaries and volunteers. Religious students enrolled in accredited universities or religious institutions may receive a one-month entry visa before entry, based on prior General Security authorization requested by the university or institution. The applicant must be at least 18, provide enrollment evidence, enter at the beginning of the academic year and normally come from the country of nationality. After one month in Lebanon, the student appears at a regional General Security bureau to apply for residence. Similar previous-authorization rules apply to clergy, missionaries and volunteers through the legally accredited host institution.
