Residence Permit on Assured Income

Overview

This is Fiji's residence route for a non-citizen aged 45 or over who has assured income or assets outside Fiji, enough to live on without becoming a charge on public funds and without working in Fiji. It is the main retiree and passive-income path. It is issued by the Ministry of Immigration, and approval is typically tied to placing a deposit in a local bank account (which may be reduced if you have bought qualifying property in Fiji). You agree not to take up employment in Fiji while you hold this permit.

1. 01

   Check the route fit

   Confirm you are 45 or over and can evidence assured income from outside Fiji, using the official Ministry of Immigration page.

2. 02

   Build the evidence pack

   Gather proof of income or assets, your passport, police clearances and a recent medical report, and plan the bank deposit.

3. 03

   Submit through the official channel

   Lodge the Residence on Assured Income application with the Ministry of Immigration, online or through the immigration office as instructed.

4. 04

   After approval

   Place the required deposit in a local bank account, settle in Fiji without taking local employment, and renew before expiry.
