Overview

The Fee Paying Student Visa allows international students to study full-time at an approved education provider for up to 4 years. You must show an offer of place, evidence of tuition payment, and living-cost funds: NZD 20,000 per year for tertiary and English-language study (NZD 1,667 per month for shorter courses) or NZD 17,000 per year for school students in Years 1 to 13. Eligible students can work up to 25 hours a week during study - raised from 20 hours on 3 November 2025 - and full-time during scheduled holidays if the course meets the credit requirements.
