Saint Lucia Work Permit

Overview

A work permit is the ordinary route for a non-national to take up paid employment in Saint Lucia, issued by the Ministry of Labour through its Work Permit Unit, and it is entirely separate from the citizenship-by-investment programme. The role normally has to be advertised locally first (a labour-market test), and the application is employer-led. Permits are tied to a specific employer and role, are non-transferable, and are typically issued for one to two years and renewable. A work permit is temporary work authorisation and does not by itself grant citizenship. Confirm the current process and fees on the official government portal.

   Check the route fit

   Confirm you have a genuine job offer and that the work-permit route applies on the official government portal.

2. 02

   Build the evidence pack

   Help your employer assemble the contract, proof of local advertising, your passport, qualifications, CV and clearances.

3. 03

   Submit through the official channel

   Your employer submits the application package to the Ministry of Labour in Castries.

4. 04

   After approval

   Begin work once the permit is granted, and renew before it expires; the permit is tied to that employer.
