Overview
The student residence permit is the residence basis for foreign nationals enrolled at a licensed educational institution in Bahrain, issued by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA). The institution supports the application on the basis of the student enrolment, and the permit is renewed for the duration of the course of study. Student-permit holders are not permitted to work in Bahrain unless they move to a work permit. This is a temporary, study-linked status and does not lead to permanent residence or citizenship, which Bahrain does not grant to expatriates.
