Overview

Bolivia migration regulation defines temporary humanitarian permanence as an exceptional route of up to one year, prorogable for similar periods where applicable. It covers need for international protection under non-refoulement, victims of trafficking in persons or migrant smuggling or other exploitation, companions of sick persons requiring medical treatment, and certain people who obtained liberty in Bolivia during criminal proceedings or sentence execution. The regulation says this modality does not constitute uninterrupted residence.

You do not need a job offer or employer to apply for the Temporary Humanitarian Residence (Permanencia Temporal). This route does not lead to permanent residence. Open to qualifying applicants from all countries.
