Family Reunification Residence Permit (Hungary)

Overview

The family reunification residence permit lets family members of a third-country national lawfully residing in Hungary join them. The qualifying relationship and the sponsor's status are evidenced to the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing. Validity depends on the sponsor's status, and the route is settlement-capable, with lawful time held building toward permanent residence.

Application pathway

1. 01

   Check the route fit

   Confirm the sponsor's status supports reunification and that you have a qualifying relationship.

2. 02

   Build the evidence pack

   Gather relationship documents, the sponsor's status proof, accommodation, means and insurance, passport and photograph.

3. 03

   Submit through the official channel

   Apply via the Enter Hungary platform or the relevant Hungarian mission and pay the fees.

4. 04

   After approval

   Collect the residence permit, renew alongside the sponsor, and track time toward permanent residence.
