Overview
If you have been admitted to study in Namibia, the study permit keeps your stay in order while you complete your course. It is issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security on the basis of your enrolment at a recognised Namibian institution and your means to support your studies, and applications are submitted to the Ministry. It is tied to your enrolment and renewed alongside your studies, and it does not by itself lead to settlement - students who want to stay on after graduating usually move to a work or other residence basis. Good to know: the permit is for studying, so any paid work follows the separate work rules rather than coming automatically with the study permit.
