Overview
The Seychelles Residence Permit is a narrow residence route rather than a general passive-income or work permit. The official FAQ says it may be granted to someone who is not a prohibited immigrant and has a family or domestic connection with Seychelles, or has made or will make a special contribution to the economic, social or cultural life of Seychelles. Holders must reside in Seychelles for at least five days in each twelve-month period of the permit, provide a bank guarantee of at least SCR 20,000, and are not entitled to free medical service or social security benefit. A holder who wants to set up a business still needs a Gainful Occupation Permit.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Seychelles Residence Permit let me work or run a business?+
No by itself. Immigration and Civil Status says a Gainful Occupation Permit is required if a Residence Permit holder wishes to set up a business. Work activity should be checked against the GOP rules before relying on the residence permit.
Do I have to live in Seychelles full time on a Residence Permit?+
The official FAQ states that the holder must reside in Seychelles for at least five days during each twelve-month period of the permit. That is a minimum condition, not a guarantee that every case will be approved.
