Overview

The Seychelles Residence Permit is a narrow residence route rather than a general passive-income or work permit. The official FAQ says it may be granted to someone who is not a prohibited immigrant and has a family or domestic connection with Seychelles, or has made or will make a special contribution to the economic, social or cultural life of Seychelles. Holders must reside in Seychelles for at least five days in each twelve-month period of the permit, provide a bank guarantee of at least SCR 20,000, and are not entitled to free medical service or social security benefit. A holder who wants to set up a business still needs a Gainful Occupation Permit.

ℹ️ Who can apply?

You do not need a job offer or employer to apply for the Residence Permit. This route does not lead to permanent residence. Open to qualifying applicants from all countries.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Seychelles Residence Permit let me work or run a business?+−

No by itself. Immigration and Civil Status says a Gainful Occupation Permit is required if a Residence Permit holder wishes to set up a business. Work activity should be checked against the GOP rules before relying on the residence permit.

Do I have to live in Seychelles full time on a Residence Permit?+−

The official FAQ states that the holder must reside in Seychelles for at least five days during each twelve-month period of the permit. That is a minimum condition, not a guarantee that every case will be approved.
