Overview

SERMIG no longer presents the old Employment Opportunity help article as a standalone no-offer job-seeker route. The current official lawful-remunerated-activities subcategory includes a job-offer pathway: a foreigner with a formal job offer from a Chilean natural or legal person may apply from outside Chile and, if approved, receives a 90-calendar-day Residencia Temporal permit. After entering Chile, the holder has 45 calendar days to submit the notarised employment contract and proof of electronic labour registration to SERMIG, which can then support a 1-year extension. This route is not a general job-search permit; it requires the formal offer at application.
