Investment Visa

Overview

The Investment Visa is Ethiopia's route for foreign nationals engaged in investment activities and potential investors who want to come to Ethiopia to invest. The route is evidence-heavy: the official page lists a passport and photo, investment-purpose support from an Ethiopian embassy, an application letter to the Immigration and Citizenship Service, the inviting company business licence and support from the Ethiopian Investment Commission.

1. 01

   Check the route fit

   Confirm whether the investment visit should be filed as a 30-day, 90-day, 6-month or 12-month investment visa.

2. 02

   Build the evidence pack

   Collect embassy, inviting-organisation, business-licence and Investment Commission support evidence.

3. 03

   Submit through the official channel

   Apply through the official Ethiopian eVisa portal at least 3 days before estimated arrival.

4. 04

   After approval

   If the stay needs to continue, request an extension before expiry or follow the in-person process if already overdue.
