Startup Residence Permit (Latvia)

Overview

Latvia grants a temporary residence permit to non-EU founders creating or developing an innovative product through startup activities. You submit a description of the innovative product and your planned activities for the coming years, and show you can support yourself during the build. The PMLP decides the permit, which is tied to genuinely developing the venture in Latvia. Good to know: this is an innovation-led route rather than a large-capital company route, so the emphasis is on the novelty and viability of what you are building. Lawful time on it counts toward EU long-term residence.
