Frequently asked questions
Can Student Pass holders work in Singapore?+
Students at approved institutions can work up to 16 hours per week during term and full-time during official vacations. Not all institutions qualify — check with your institution and ICA before starting work. Industrial attachments and internships forming part of the curriculum are permitted without additional work pass.
As a graduating international student in Singapore, what work pass do I move to after my Student Pass?+
Graduates can seek Employment Pass (EP) or S Pass employment after their Student Pass, and some institutions have career-services partnerships to help facilitate the transition. There is no automatic conversion — you need a qualifying job offer and your employer applies for the pass. Confirm the current process with ICA and MOM.
