Overview

The Governor of Svalbard says mainland Norway is governed by the Immigration Act, but although Svalbard is part of Norway, that Act does not apply to the archipelago. The official page says foreign citizens do not need a visa or work and residence permits from Norwegian authorities to travel to Svalbard, but they must still meet stay requirements such as having means to support themselves.
