Overview
The CARICOM Skills Certificate lets eligible skilled nationals of CARICOM member states work in Trinidad and Tobago without needing a work permit, under the free movement provisions of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). It is handled by the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, which verifies your qualifications and approved category - such as university graduate, nurse, teacher, artisan, holder of an associate degree and other recognised categories. With an approved certificate you can enter, receive an initial entry stamp, begin work, and then seek an indefinite stay once the certificate is verified. This route is for CARICOM nationals only; non-CARICOM workers use the work permit instead.
