Overview
A Zambia Employment Permit is issued to a foreigner who enters the country to take up employment for a period exceeding 6 months. It can be extended for periods up to a maximum of 10 years. The Department says all applicants should remain outside Zambia until the permit is approved, and only an employer, practising lawyer or immigration consultant can apply on behalf of a prospective expatriate. The successful applicant may still need a visa to enter Zambia to collect the permit.
