Overview
The study residence permit is for non-EU students admitted to an accredited Bulgarian educational institution. You normally enter on a long-stay type D visa for study and then apply to the Migration Directorate for the residence card, which is renewed for the duration of your course. It is not a direct settlement route, and study time usually counts only partly toward the qualifying period for long-term residence, but many graduates move on to a work or other permit afterwards.
