Overview
Vietnam's investor visa is issued in four tiers, DT1 to DT4, to foreign investors and representatives of foreign organisations, graded by the amount of capital contributed and the sector. Higher tiers (notably DT1) reflect larger capital and carry longer validity, while lower tiers reflect smaller contributions and shorter validity. Holders of the higher tiers can typically obtain a temporary residence card and bring family, and longer continuous residence can open a permanent-residence pathway. The lowest tier carries the shortest validity and the fewest onward rights.
