Overview
The Work and Residence Permit (Companies) is the main route for a foreign national employed by an incorporated company in Ghana. The employer applies on the worker's behalf to the Ghana Immigration Service, and the permit combines authorisation to work with the right to reside for its validity. It is employer-tied and renewable rather than permanent, so it does not by itself lead to settlement, though long lawful residence can later support an application for indefinite residence. Government fees commonly differ for ECOWAS and non-ECOWAS nationals.
