Overview
This Work and Residence Permit covers foreign nationals who do not fit the standard company-employee route, including missionaries, NGO workers, holders of a Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) automatic immigrant quota, and shareholders or directors of a Ghanaian company. The Ghana Immigration Service issues it on the basis of the relevant sponsoring body or quota, and it combines work authorisation with the right to reside for its validity. It is renewable rather than permanent, so it does not by itself lead to settlement. Where the route runs through a GIPC quota, the enterprise must first secure the quota with GIPC.
