Overview
This is Jamaica's permanent residence route for a foreign national who has been employed in Jamaica for a qualifying period (commonly described as three or more years). It is granted by the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA), not the Ministry of Labour, and it lets you live in Jamaica on a settled basis. You evidence your employment history, your financial means and your good standing. This is the settlement route for established workers; it is separate from the work permit, which only authorises the work itself.
