Overview
Unconditional Landing is a stamp PICA places in a foreign passport that lets the holder remain in Jamaica unconditionally - to live, work or study without needing a separate work permit or student visa. It is for people with a recognised connection to Jamaica: Jamaicans by birth travelling on a foreign passport, those of Jamaican descent (a Jamaican parent or grandparent), people who became Jamaican by registration or naturalisation, and CARICOM nationals holding a CSME skills certificate (with their dependents). The stamp lasts while your passport is valid and is transferred when you renew your passport.

Frequently asked questions
Can I work in Jamaica with unconditional landing instead of a work permit?+
Yes. The unconditional landing stamp lets the holder live, work or study in Jamaica without a separate work permit or student visa. That is its main advantage for people with a Jamaican connection. Confirm the current categories and documents on the official PICA page.
I have a Jamaican grandparent - do I qualify?+
You may qualify under the descent category, which covers people born overseas with a Jamaican parent or grandparent. You would need to evidence that link with civil documents. Confirm exactly what is accepted on the official PICA page.
