Overview
This route is for third-country nationals who want to reside in Slovenia to be self-employed - for example as a sole trader, or as the founder or partner of a company in which you also work. In practice the activity is registered and the Employment Service of Slovenia is involved in the consent, much like the single permit, which is why we mark it as sponsorship-style. You normally need to have been registered or operating for a qualifying period and to show genuine activity. Good to know: residence is granted for real self-employment, not simply for setting up a company on paper, and lawful time counts toward EU long-term residence.
