External Data Repository Mirrors 2026

Repository-ready export manifests, metadata templates, DOI and accession checklists, and canonical backlink requirements for mirroring original Visa Atlas datasets into external data repositories.

This is the off-site distribution control plane for the open data layer. It separates export readiness from external publication evidence, because third-party repository accounts, DOIs and accessions require manual review before they become public claims.

Manual review lanes

Repository mirror package

This manifest is generated from the public dataset registry, existing offline exporters and manual repository-publication requirements. It describes what is ready to publish and how to validate external mirrors; it does not publish to third-party platforms.

Generate templates

npm run export:repository-mirrors

Publication evidence workflow

npm run seo:repository-mirrors -- repository-mirror-log.jsonl --json

Approved public repository evidence requires status to be published or refreshed, plus repositoryUrl, reviewedAt, reviewedBy, canonicalBacklinkPresent, licensePresent and sourceUrlsPreserved.

Methodology and limits

Repository account credentials, unpublished repository URLs, reviewer notes, rejected submissions and unapproved accession evidence stay local. Public rollups may include approved repository URLs, DOI/accession strings and boolean checks only after status is published or refreshed and repositoryUrl, reviewedAt, reviewedBy, canonicalBacklinkPresent, licensePresent and sourceUrlsPreserved are present.

  • This manifest proves export readiness and repository metadata coverage; it does not prove that third-party repositories have accepted, indexed or ranked the dataset.
  • External mirror publication requires human account access, repository policy review and a manual publication step.
  • Mirrors must preserve Visa Atlas canonical URLs and the linked government source URLs; they are distribution copies, not issuing authorities.
  • External mirrors can improve citation reach and AI retriever recall, but they do not guarantee backlinks, rankings, traffic, citations or market share.
